18th Annual Tarpon Tournament

The Rotary Club of Oriental is pleased to announce that the winning team for Tarpon 09 was George Beckwith with crew Brian Herrington and Jim Copland.  This was Beckwith’s 4th win.  48 captains registered for the competition.  The tournament is a catch and release event with over $22,000 in cash & prizes for the winners.  The tournament benefits the Oriental Rotary Scholarship Fund, providing academic scholarships to worthy high school seniors and community college students from Pamlico County.

About the Music:

Bob Laverty’s singing and playing is a mix of folk, country and even shanties.

CK Full Circle. Local favorites Keri Delisle (vocals) and Chris Daniels (guitar and vocals) of Oriental have released their first CD, “In the Corner” and have a second in the works

LeveLLand is an alternative country/acoustic group is quickly becoming a favorite in Pamlico County. LeveLLand features Tom “Mac” McWilliams on lead vocals and acoustic/electric guitar, Jennifer Pare on lead/harmony vocals and percussion, and Patrick Del Rio on mandolin, guitar, 5-string banjo, harmonica, saw and background harmony vocals. With influences ranging from alternative country to folk and bluegrass, the three members are able to offer a great mix. LeveLLand takes pride in performing live music that you don’t normally get a chance to hear, from the fast-paced to the high and lonesome with a flavor that reflects our Eastern Carolina surroundings and makes the experience fun.
