Scholars & Scholarship Recipients 2010
Oriental Rotary Club honored Pamlico County’s 2010 scholars at its Monday evening meeting, May 17. These students have achieved outstanding academic success in addition to participating in service projects. Oriental Rotarian Dick Moat introduced the scholars to the Club’s membership.

Scholarship Recipients
The Oriental Rotary Club is pleased to announce that four outstanding college-bound Pamlico high school students will each receive a $3,000 scholarship. Megan Daly, Mark Macintyre, William Spencer and Ashton Spruill are the scholarship recipients and will be honored at the May 27 Awards Banquet at Pamlico High School.
-Megan Daly will attend the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. Her resume includes participation in high school dance and theatre clubs and writing as a teen columnist for the Pamlico News. She would like to pursue a career as a museum curator.
-Mark MacIntyre will attend North Carolina State University. He has been active in the North Carolina ROTC and Pamlico High School’s Student Government Association where, currently, he is President. Mark anticipates a career as a software engineer.
-William Spencer will attend North Carolina State University’s College of Engineering. His high school activities included the One Voice Youth Choir, lead role in the New Bern Civic Theatre’s production of “Beauty and the Beast” and volunteer tutoring. He would like to be a Mechanical Engineer.
-Ashton Spruill will attend North Carolina State University. Her high school activities included varsity sports, volunteer work with the Coastal Pet Clinic and participation in the Methodist Youth Fellowship. She anticipates a career in animal science, specifically as veterinarian for large and small animals.
